If there’s one thing old school movies have taught me, it’s that nothing is impossible even though you have limited resources. It’s about being creative and resourceful. During the Hollywood Golden Age, many movies were shot during daytime, even though some of the scenes were supposed to portray darkness and midnight.
In today’s video I’ll show you how to turn day HDRI maps into night HDRI maps using a similar trick that was invented almost 100 years ago, and also how to spice it up further with your own lights:
